Hairdresser's Disco Ball & Fantasy Hair Show (2012)

Behind the scenes and on the runway for the premier Hair & Makeup extravaganza of the year. HVCS(Hudson Valley Community Services) celebrated the 2012 Hairdresser's Disco Ball and Fantasy Hair Show at Shadows on the Hudson. HVCS promotes a better quality of life for those living with and effected by HIV/ AIDS, and thanks to one woman's dream the fantasy... has become a reality.

Highlights: Hairdresser's Disco Ball & Fantasy Hair Show (2013)

HVCS formerly known as ARCS' mission is to promote prevention and wellness for all people, to encourage life-affirming decisions maximizing their quality of life, and to coordinate care for those living with complex health conditions. It was founded in 1983 by a small group of lesbian and gay citizens who refused to stand idly by in the face of government inaction as this disease devastated those they loved. Since then, the agency has grown to service the needs of over 3,000 community members annually through our locations in Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester counties. We have nearly three decades of experience in providing services and support for people living with HIV/AIDS.

In 2011, ARCS underwent a strategic planning process and modified our corporate name to Hudson Valley Community Services, Inc. ARCS is a certified 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

A professional and caring staff provides quality case management, client advocacy, emergency assistance, education, outreach, and prevention for adults, children, and families, as well as the general community. We believe in building partnerships with clients to guide them, and give them the information they need to make informed decisions for themselves.

ARCS is a stabilizing presence for Hudson Valley residents and their families facing crisis and hardship. We envision a world where people live healthy lives and have access to the coordinated care they need.

Hudson Valley Hub donated custom content services to  to Hudson Valley Community Services for the 2013 Hairdresser's Disco Ball & Fantasy Hair Show:

One of HVCS' largest fundraising events presented by Four Star Salon Services! This hair raising event sold out and became one of the most talked-about social events in the Hudson Valley. Twenty salons joined forces to present wild, wacky and wonderful hair styles and fashion for a runway show  that will make your hair stand on end!

This year's event was held at Villa Borghese  in Wappingers Falls on Sunday, August 18th. Stay tuned to Hudson Valley Hub for more highlights!
